Moderno Privacy Policy
Information about how data is handled on moderno.cc and how network features work in the Moderno Android app.
1. Controller and contact
The moderno.cc website and the Moderno app are published by a developer using the name Moderno Audiobook. For questions about privacy or data submitted through the contact form, email [email protected].
2. Visiting the website
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and prevent abuse, Cloudflare may process technical connection data, including IP addresses, browser information and requests. The website also uses Google Fonts. Your browser may connect to Google services to download fonts.
3. Contact form
When you send a regular message, you provide your email address, a chosen subject and message text. An application to join beta testing includes your email address and answers to two questions: how often you listen to audiobooks and which audiobook apps you use. These answers help us select participants and organize testing. For Play Store testing, provide the email address of the Google account you use in that store.
The legal basis for processing is the controller’s legitimate interest in correspondence and handling applications (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Submitting the form is voluntary, but we cannot reply without a return email address.
Messages are delivered using Resend. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile to detect automated submissions. We may also limit the number of requests at the Cloudflare level.
We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle the inquiry, and longer only when necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not use information submitted through the form for advertising purposes.
4. App network features
Moderno is designed primarily to play your own audiobooks. Playing local files does not require uploading your library to a Moderno server. For selected features, the app communicates with services chosen by the user, such as NAS/SMB, Google Drive, Google Cast receivers and artwork sources used for cover searches.
The app does not send its own usage telemetry or automatic crash reports. However, external providers may process data necessary for the features you choose to use. Those features may also be subject to the providers’ privacy policies.
5. Recipients and data transfers
Data may be shared with service providers responsible for hosting, security, fonts and email delivery: Cloudflare, Google and Resend, only to the extent needed to use these services. Depending on the provider, data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area under mechanisms permitted by the GDPR.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, rectification or erasure of your data, restriction of processing, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office in Poland (UODO). To exercise these rights, contact the controller using the address in section 1.
7. Policy changes
This policy may be updated if Moderno features, the services we use or applicable laws change. Last updated: November 6, 2026.
